The fans of Majahawodwa Ndlovu, who is famously known as Jeys Marabini, are set for another treat as he is going to hold a show at Patapata in Mpopoma to celebrate his 20 years in the musical industry on Friday.
In an interview, Jeys said he is going to team up with other local groups who will perform alongside him."I will be celebrating my 20 years in the industry and I will be having a show at Patapata and there will be more entertainment as I have organised a number of singers and groups that will be performing alongside me.
"This is going to be one of the best shows ever to be staged at Patapata as I will be performing with the top groups in town like Iyasa which is coming back from its international tour," he said.
Jeys also added that he was using this show to exhibit the talent he has nurtured in the past years that did not have the opportunity to perform at bigger events.
"There is a group called Nucleus Bank and a guy called Dumisani Nkomo. These will be my guest artistes who will do the curtain-raising and they are part of my talent search that I did in the rural areas where I was doing my shows in the past years.
"They are into sungura kind of music so I want to give them a platform to perform so that I can see how good they are on a big stage," he said.
Jeys Marabini started singing in 1990 with a band called the Comforting Brothers before he moved to Imbizo in 1993 and in 1995 he moved to Sunduza Band which was being led by Simone Banda.
"Many people started knowing Jeys in 2000 after my song titled Marabini but I would like to tell you that I was in the industry long back.
"I have worked with the likes of Sunduza, Comfort Brothers and others before I moved to promoting," he said.
In 2000 Jeys was into promoting local artistes on the international scene as most of them were not known."I have been in the promoting industry and I have managed to promote big guys like Albert Nyathi and Marshal Munhumumwe.
"I have toured a lot of places which include Mumbai (India), the United Kingdom, and all these places I only got to know them because of promoting music," he said.
Jeys is working on his next project that will be produced next year by Don Laka who is a South African producer.
"Right now I am working on my new album that will be produced by one of the best producers Don Laka who is working with Oskido, who has produced the likes of Mafikizolo.
"So, I promise my fans the best from the show for my 20 years in the industry and also for the album that will be released next year," he ended.
