ALICK Macheso's new album - Dzinosvitsa Kure - hits the streets today ahead of the massive album launch set for Aquatic Complex this Friday.
The album carries six tracks namely Chikuru Kurarama, Pfuma Yacho, Ndakakutadzirei, Kudzwai, Madzitete and Vane Zvavanoda.
Borrowing lines from one of his hit songs, Charakupa, Macheso said he has played his part and it is now left to the fans to consume.
While he is confident that the album will cruise saying he has put enough effort, the revered entertainer maintained the product belongs to the people.
"The wait is over and the album is out tomorrow (today). We now leave it to the fans who own the product.
"Our duty is to come up with the album and we don't interfere after, it belongs to my fans," said Macheso.
The album, which Macheso said its lyrics are centered on people lives, has been described – by critics – as make or break for the sungura kingpin.
However, Macheso is basking in confidence.
His diehard fans have been bragging on various social media platforms that it is now time to forget about songs that have been released.
Macheso has been sampling some of the songs like Kudzwai and Ndakakutadzirei and the response has been overwhelming.
Tich Makahamadze, Orchestra Mberikwazvo publicist, said the idea to release the album two days before the launch is to make fans familiarise with the new music.
Makahamadze told H-Metro that there will be vans selling the CDs in various cities and will also be available at all Zimpapers vendors' stalls and other outlets.
"Everything is ready; the album will be out tomorrow as we promised with the launch slated for Friday at Aquatic Complex
"The CDs will be available at Zimpapers vendors' stalls in various parts of the country and we are going to have vehicles in various places selling the CDs.
"Just like our previous album, we have partners like Zimbabwe Red Cross and the album will also be available there," said Makahamadze.
The album launch coincides with Macheso's 50th birthday celebrations and Orchestra Mberikwazvo's 20th anniversary celebrations.
Macheso will be supported by top musician Jah Prayzah, zora musician Leonard Zhakata and dancehall star Sniper Storm.
"It's a big event. We will be launching the 11th album, celebrating mdhara's 50th birthday and Orchestra Mberikwazvo 20th anniversary.
"While it is all about Macheso, we have decided to engage other musicians (Jah Prayzah, Zhakata and Sniper) to make it an interesting affair," said Makahamadze.
