AWARD winning South African music sensation Zahara will hold a comeback show in Zimbabwe next month to celebrate her various awards with fans in the country.
Zahara will hold shows in Harare and Bulawayo on 10 and 11 August respectively.
The Eastern Cape born songbird has won eight awards in the second leg of the 18th MTN South African Music Awards (Sama). Her awards included Best Newcomer and Female Artiste of the Year and Best Selling Artiste awards breaking the Sama record.
The Bulawayo show will be held at Queens Sports Club and will start at 4pm ending at 12 midnight on Sunday.
Winky D will support Zahara and Jeys Marabini, Otis Ngwabi, Sku and Antivirus Dance Crew are expected to be the Bulawayo artistes to support her.
Addressing members of the Press yesterday, events manager of Hardcore World Entertainment, the promoters of the show, Tawanda Chingara said all was set for the show.
He said Zahara was expecting the warm welcome she received in Zimbabwe for her shows in March.
"Zahara is expecting the same welcome that Zimbabwe gave to her when she came to perform in March. Winky D will support her and we are talking to Bulawayo artistes to support her. By Friday, we would have finalised with them.
"We want Skhu, Otis Ngwabi, and we are negotiating with Jeys Marabini to be part of the show. We are looking for Antivirus dance crew, we spoke to them before but they are hard to find," said Chingara.
He said Zahara will mingle with fans and artistes that will perform with her, after her performances.
"We are planning something that this time around Zahara can meet her fans. We do not want a situation like after her performance, she would just get into the car and go. We are tying up one or two things that she meets her fans after the show or before the show. As soon as she is in Bulawayo, the artistes that will perform with her, will meet Zahara so that they share their experiences and introduce themselves," said Chingara.
He said Zahara would get on stage very early so that all those who want to go home would do so without being inconvenienced.
"Zahara will come and perform early so that people who want to go to church the next day can do so. Also, it would be the school holidays so some schoolchildren will be allowed by their parents to go and watch. So we want the it to be a family show," said Chingara.
Zahara, real name Bulelwa Mkutukana, held a show in March at Bulawayo Athletic Club and serenaded hundreds of people that thronged the venue. The award-winning 24-year-old singer performed songs like Umthwalo Wami, Ngizabuya and Thekwane.
