Miss Zimbabwe UK 2014 contestants
The Miss Zimbabwe UK organisers are set to raise the standard this year for the pageant event and in the process to accomplish this, they held a three-day boot camp for the contestants. The boot camp thrived in an atmosphere of teamwork, creative thinking, confidence building and most important understanding and knowledge of the Zimbabwe Culture and Heritage.
The contestants were treated to a day of photo shoots and interviews from Marrie Jernie Media and Zimbo Live TV. They received expert advice and cat walk training from Brenda Muparadzi Chivhange alongside Thembi Mangena Maphosa and life skills advice from Beritha Masawi Muzondo. One of the contestants expressed herself in saying, "We got empowered and inspired, you can tell that there was a lot of preparation as the sessions carried a high level of professionalism and at the same time there where fun and interactive. One of the best experiences ever. I am grateful for the help and the care that everyone showed. It was beautiful."
This year Headline Fashion Designer for Miss Zimbabwe UK 2014 Zuwa Re, was present to speak about Fashion and creative thinking. Zuwa Re has teamed up with a number of prominent and upcoming designers and stylists to dress the contestants up.
Speaking to Beritha Masawi Muzondo who is the Head Organiser for this year's pageant, she said, "The girls enjoyed the whole experience that they are
begging the organisers for another bootcamp."
Present on the day was Linda Satimburwa, who visited the contestants at Bootcamp and held a talk on life skills, culture and heritage. When asked by Vickie Storm during a Zimbo Live TV interview, Linda described the contestants to be confident and passionate about Zimbabwe and that this year a confident and deserving winner will be chosen.
The show this year is expected to sale out and with a special touch of the red carpet interviews, which will be held by Zimbo Live TV and broadcasted live on the internet.
In completion of the boot camp, the contestants where expected to display more self confidence, awareness and understanding of the Zimbabwean Heritage which they will be expected to uphold, respect and promote to the wider community.
This year's Miss Zimbabwe UK will be held at the Quality Skyline Hotel in Luton, England on August 23 from 5pm till midnight.
