The Zimbabwean who conned a Botswana teacher out of P27 600 through a fake penis enlargement treatment has been jailed for five years.
The Zimbabwean, Chrispen Chawinga (24) and the Malawian Alex Chipembe (31), denied the fraud charges when they appeared before Francistown magistrate, Sijabuliso Siziba.
The court heard that Alfred Morupule (34), a teacher at a Francistown School in Botswana, who desperately needed to steam up his performance in bed, was conned by the self-styled Zimbabwean and Malawian traditional healers who claimed they could enlarge his manhood to improve his performance in bed.
Morupule told a Francistown court that he consulted the men after he failed to satisfy his sex-starved fiancée. He said after the self-styled traditional healers gave him the treatment but there was no change in the size of his manhood.
He said at first he used sex booster pills to improve his performance, which could be short-lived, prompting him to look for the traditional healers for permanent remedy to his problems.
The teacher said his fiancée constantly complained that he was not satisfying her. He said that made his woman suspect that he was cheating on her.
"I saw an advert in one of the local newspapers claiming to treat such problems, and sought traditional help. When I called the number on the advert, Chrispen Chawinga answered," Morupule was quoted as having told the court.
He said he told Chiwanga of his problem and asked for assistance.
"We arranged to meet and when we met he introduced me to Alex Chipembe, whom he said was more powerful and would help with all my problems," said the teacher.
When the teacher realised he had been duped, he reported the matter to the police who arrested the suspects.
