Six Zimbabweans have been arrested in South Africa while trying to make their way to Mozambique to join the 'Smoke That Thunders' a group claiming to have been offered military training by the rebel group RENAMO.
According to The Newage, five men and woman were apprehended at the Grobler's Bridge border post in Witpoort near Lephalale on their way to Mozambique to receive military training with the Renamo bandits.
Last month Bulawayo24.com reported that 'Smoke That Thunders' had posted a video online claiming that RENAMO rebels of Mozambique had been offering them military training.
In the footage the group had said it was recruiting men only.
President Mugabe's spokesperson George Charamba is quoted saying "there were claims that RENAMO offered to train them, but we never took that seriously. But, in any case, they know what awaits them."
The 'Smoke That Thunders' group had said it will remove Mugabe from power before Christmas.
