Search for Crystal Lounge armed robbers continues
13 hrs ago | Views

A police tactical unit was deployed to the rooftop of Crystal Lounge on Sunday afternoon amid suspicions that armed robbers, who earlier held six workers hostage, could be hiding there.
The dramatic operation unfolded after the robbers stormed the popular nightspot in the early hours of Sunday, locking staff inside the premises. Swift action by one of the employees, who managed to alert authorities, led to a rapid response by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).
All six hostages were successfully rescued, and no injuries were reported during the operation.
However, law enforcement believes that some of the suspects may still be on the premises, prompting the tactical team to search the building, including the rooftop, where the robbers are feared to be hiding.
"The situation is still fluid. Our officers are conducting a thorough search of the building, including areas not immediately accessible such as the roof, as we believe some suspects may not have escaped the scene," said a police spokesperson.
As the investigation continues, security has been tightened around the area, with police urging members of the public to avoid the vicinity until the situation is resolved.
The incident has sent shockwaves through Bulawayo, raising concerns over security at entertainment venues in the city. Authorities have pledged to intensify efforts to apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice.
