A Harare man has successfully obtained a protection order against his former girlfriend, who allegedly tried to interfere with his marriage.

Harare Civil Court Magistrate Ms Johanna Mukwesha granted the order after Mr Ian Jasi told the court that Ms Fiona Gwengwere had been causing him emotional distress and jeopardizing his family life.

Mr Jasi said he ended his relationship with Ms Gwengwere several months ago, recognising it was no longer healthy. "I am focusing on my family now. She calls me every time, even using a different number," he said. "She is threatening to cause more harm since she is jealous that I have moved on with my life and I am prospering."

According to Mr Jasi, Ms Gwengwere refused to accept the breakup and began stalking him, even threatening to appear at his workplace and home uninvited. He said she demanded financial support and gifts, and when he refused, she allegedly vowed to destroy his marriage.

"She has been tormenting me and my family, she calls me, sends messages filled with lies and insults, and even tells me that I will never leave her," Mr Jasi told the court. "She has threatened to tell people things that will humiliate me and make my wife leave me. My home is no longer peaceful, and my marriage is on the rocks."

He further revealed that his wife has been deeply distressed by Ms Gwengwere's persistent interference, which has led to arguments and tension within the household.

Mr Jasi approached the courts seeking to protect his family from further emotional harm and emphasized that his only aim is to live peacefully without interference.
