Director up for $300 000 fraud

Newstacker director Fungai Leslie Tafangombe appeared in court facing allegations of conning another businessman of more than $300 000 in a botched equipment deal.
Tafangombe denied the charge of duping Joseph Jamal Hamed who is a director of New Millenium Power and Heavy Equipment.
Allegations were that on May 16 this year he teamed up with his two other accomplices and went to Hamed at his office and misrepresented that that they had a company based in Dubai which is in the business of supplying generators and other heavy duty equipment.
Hamed expressed interest before they entered into a deal. Hamed paid Tafangombe $302 000 for t6he supply of generators.
He failed to supply the equipment prompting Hamed to report to the police.
