A 51-year-old Bulawayo woman was arraigned before Guruve magistrate court for stabbing a woman who she alleges to have 'snatched' husband.
Jane Khanye (51) pleaded not guilty to stabbing Revai Chimusove (33) for sending love texts messages to her husband during her absence.
Public Prosecutor Ms Venesencia Musiiwa told the court that Khanye met Chimusove at a borehole in Mukwenya village under chief Chipuriro on a date not known to the prosecutor in August 2017.
The accused is reported to have slapped the complaint with open hands before they tussled together on the ground.
Khanye is then said to have produced a knife and stabbed the complaint on the leg. A medical report was produced in court as evidence.
In her defence, Khanye accused the complaint of snatching her husband while she was in Bulawayo and sending him love message while she received threatening messages from the alleged mistress.
"Your worship I did not stab her but we fought, this was after I saw her love messages on my husband's phone.
"When I was in Bulawayo the complaint moved into my house and bedded my husband for two months.
"Using texts messages, she also threatened to break my legs."
The resident magistrate Mr Shingirai Mutiro remanded the matter to 29 September for continuation of trial.
