All hell breaks loose as man armed with catapult attempts to rape minor

There was drama at Mazowe mine this morning (Friday) when a suspected rapist armed with a catapult reportedly attempted to rape a grade seven pupil in the bush on her way to holiday lessons.
Eye witnesses allege Gift Zakiyo ambushed the grade seven pupil name withheld for ethical reasons with a catapult and attempted to rape her before she screamed for help thereby drawing attention of the crowd.
"The accused tried to rape a girl who was on her way to attend holiday lessons and threatened her not to scream with a catapult but she did not budge, instead she screamed for help and people rushed to the scene and meted instant justice on the culprit before taking him to a police base," revealed the source.
However, when the culprit was taken to a police base police officers were reported to be absent and the suspect had to be tied with shoelaces.
"When we effected citizen arrest on Zakiyo we went to our police base but unfortunately the police were said to have gone to Mazowe station hence we had to use shoelaces to tie the culprit."
Apparently, the accused has been sent to Mazowe police station where he is assisting police with investigations.Quizzed by the police Zakiyo said he was in love with the girl and had bought a mobile phone for her in the name of love.
