MDC Alliance presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa said he is going to rename the country and all ten provinces if his party wins the next general elections.
Addressing the party leaders and aspiring candidates at the launch of the Alliance policy document at Christian Jubilee Centre in Milton Park Thursday in Harare, Chamisa said the country will be renamed Great Zimbabwe.
Chamisa said he was also going to rename the country's ten provinces.
"We are going to rename the provinces subject to the concurrence with the people of Zimbabwe," he said.
"We believe that we can't be called Matabeleland, Mashonaland, Manicaland; we tribalising ourselves and we are taking after Smith (former Rhodesian prime minister)."
