Motlanthe blocks Col. Elliot Piki

Rtd Lieutenant Colonel Elliot Piki was blocked by the Motlanthe Commission from submitting his evidence after being told the Commission had closed doors for the public interviews, human rights lawyer Douglas Coltart has said.
Piki was allegedly abducted by military officials at gunpoint on Sunday and managed to escape on Wednesday.
"Col. Piki was abducted from his home on 25 Nov the day before he was due to testify before the August1 Inquiry. He managed to escape from his abductors and went to Commission yesterday (Wednesday) but was blocked from testifying. Now the Commission says its closed!" Coltart said.
On Wednesday, the wife of Elliot Piki, a retired member of the Zimbabwe National Army withdrew an application she filed early this week seeking an order compelling Zimbabwe authorities to account for the whereabouts of her husband after he managed 2 escape from his assailants.
Piki is a former ZANU PF member who lost Harare South primary elections to Tongai Mnangagwa, the President's son.
