Prophet bashes church mate for calling him a false prophet

A Johane Masowe WeChishanu Prophet from Harava communal lands under Chief Seke was arrested for allegedly assaulting a church-mate using his holy stick accusing her of calling him a false prophet.
Madzibaba Emmanuel Musonza appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Olivia Mariga facing allegations of assaulting Nokuthula Gurure at Jambanja market place in Chitungwiza Unit L.
State counsel, Mr Henry Muringani alleged that on 5 May at around 5.30pm, the accused approached Gurure who is a vendor at Jambanja and confronted her for spreading rumours that he uses rituals and traditional medicine for his prophecies. The State further alleges that an argument ensued leading to Prophet Musonza assaulting Gurure using a wooden stick before the public restrained him. Gurure, who sustained injuries, made a police reported leading to the arrest of Prophet Musonza. He was remanded out of custody on free bail to 4 June.
In her founding affidavit, Gurure told the court that Musonza, who was clad in his white robe, approached her at her market place and accused her of spreading rumours that he is a false prophet. She said he bashed her using his 'holy stick' before the public restrained him. She denied calling him a false prophet but said she had joined another church and this did not go well with Madzibaba Musonza.
