Anti-immigration activist Kwena Molekwa from South Africa has leveled accusations against Zimbabwe's ruling party, Zanu-PF, alleging their infiltration into South African politics.
Molekwa's claims come in the wake of Zanu-PF officials' presence at the African National Congress (ANC) Siyanqoba rally in Johannesburg during the weekend, as a show of solidarity ahead of Wednesday's elections.
Expressing concern, Molekwa described Zanu-PF's involvement in the ANC's campaign as interference in South Africa's political landscape. "The presence of Zanu-PF at the ANC rally raises eyebrows. It's alarming to witness Zimbabwean politicians influencing our political scene," Molekwa remarked.
Highlighting the historical ties between Zanu-PF and the ANC, Molekwa emphasized the need to safeguard South Africa's democracy from external influences.
Moreover, Molekwa accused Zanu-PF of orchestrating a broader agenda to extend its influence across the Southern African region, with concerns particularly focused on Zambia and the upcoming elections in 2026.
In light of these developments, Molekwa urged vigilance to prevent the alleged scheme of regional capture by Zanu-PF, cautioning against potential ramifications for South Africa's political landscape.
