Plumtree and Matopos have recorded significant rainfall of over 20 millimetres, as various parts of Zimbabwe experienced widespread thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Meteorological Department reported that Plumtree received 29 mm, while Matopos saw 37 mm of rainfall, marking some of the heaviest downpours in the country this week.
The rains are attributed to a cloud band currently hovering over Zimbabwe, bringing both relief and caution to residents across multiple regions. According to the Meteorological Department, warm and mostly cloudy conditions are expected this Thursday afternoon, with scattered thunderstorms forecasted for northern areas and continued rain in southern regions.
The department has urged the public to exercise caution during thunderstorms, advising residents to remain indoors where possible, as some showers may bring strong winds and hail in certain areas.
