Zanu-PF urged to show loyalty to Mnangagwa

ZANU-PF Mashonaland East provincial chairman, Daniel Garwe, has urged party members to demonstrate unwavering loyalty to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, respect party leadership, and avoid actions that could cause divisions within the ruling party.

Speaking during an inter-district meeting held in Goromonzi over the weekend, Garwe addressed thousands of party members and supporters, delivering feedback from resolutions adopted at the recent ZANU-PF conference in Bulawayo.

"Let us support President Mnangagwa in building this nation. As a province, we must visibly back the President and all ongoing development programmes," Garwe said.

He highlighted key projects in Mashonaland East, including the construction of Kunzvi Dam and road infrastructure upgrades, as evidence of progress under the President's leadership. Garwe called on members to focus on supporting these initiatives instead of engaging in divisive politics or entertaining false claims about internal conflicts.

"The province must set an example by respecting the Presidium and refusing to tolerate those who seek to undermine the party," he added.

Garwe dismissed rumors of impending general elections, clarifying that the next elections would take place in accordance with the constitutional five-year cycle.

"There are some who are spreading false information that there are general elections coming soon. This is untrue. The President's term is five years, and we had elections last year. There will be no elections soon," he stated.

He urged members to stop circulating misinformation and instead rally behind President Mnangagwa's vision for national development.

Garwe reiterated the party's unanimous resolution at the Bulawayo conference endorsing President Mnangagwa to remain in office beyond 2028. He emphasized that the resolution was adopted without opposition, reflecting the party's unity on the matter.

In his role as Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Garwe cautioned against illegal land sales, warning that those involved would face legal consequences.

"Do not take or sell land that is not yours. We must respect the law. Those found on the wrong side will be arrested. As a party, we must not be seen engaging in illegal land transactions," he said.

Garwe's remarks underscored the need for discipline, unity, and collective effort in supporting President Mnangagwa's development agenda and preserving the party's integrity.
