Mutasa Central lawmaker Innocent Benza (Zanu-PF) this week presented a Boran bull to President Emmerson Mnangagwa in recognition of his participation as guest of honour at a national youth programme in Mutasa district.

The event took place at the Magamba Vocational Training Centre, where Mnangagwa officiated at the Manicaland Youth Forum and the Africa Youth Day celebrations. Over 20,000 youths attended the historic event, making it a significant occasion for the district.

The donation was confirmed by Washington Ziwiwi, the district committee co-ordinator chairperson, who expressed Benza's gratitude to the president for attending the programme.

"One of our MPs in the district, Honourable Innocent Benza, who also serves as the secretary for legal affairs, has delivered a Boran bull breed to His Excellency President Mnangagwa as a gesture of thanks for officiating at this important youth programme," Ziwiwi said. "The MP is thanking President Mnangagwa for being the guest of honour at this historic event."

The Boran bull, known for its docile nature, heat tolerance, and resistance to disease, is a well-regarded breed, particularly in the region. It is recognized for its large hump above the shoulders, short head, and small ears. Originally from East Africa, the breed is now found in countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and even in regions like Australia and the United States.

This gesture by Benza marks a significant expression of appreciation, linking the event's success with the country's rich agricultural heritage and reinforcing the strong ties between the community and leadership.
