RAUNCHY dancer Beverly Sibanda, better known in the entertainment circles as Bev, brought the house to a standstill at one of her shows when she came on stage wearing an all-white gown like those worn by believers from apostolic sects.

The erotic dancer deviated from her norm, which has made her a household name in the dancing business, to mimic Christian gospel sermons by the late Pastor Chiweshe, among other dance routines

She played a disc that carries the late pastor's message which goes in part: "Nyama yakaora ndiyo inomhanyirwa nenhunzi" (inyama evundileyo yiyo landwa zimpukani), (flies flock to rotten meat). The lanky dancer also performed a mime of an apostolic sect prophet cleansing someone who has been tormented by evil spirits as she pretended to remove a goblin from the stomach of a "client" (played by a male dancer in her group). Bev used "holy water" from a purified water bottle to perform her act.

This came after she had performed her usual stuff, that is dancing to songs by other artistes, including Nicholas Zakaria, Alick Macheso, the late Tongai Moyo and some rhumba beats. Her dance routines at the show did not bring the usual excitement if the response from the crowd was anything to go by. Revellers in one corner of the sports bar repeatedly chanted "Wapererwa!" (Suphelelwe ngamaqinga), (you have run out of ideas), much to the dancers' chagrin judging by expressions on their faces.

However, this did not distract Bev and her group Sexy Angels from continuing with their act.

After the show, Bev said she had various acts and would be doing more new dance routines this year.

She said the apostolic dance had been part of her choreography for sometime and she was hoping to bring something unique at every show.
