A Zanu-PF affiliate group, Boys DzaMdara, has launched a youth empowerment indaba in Nyanga, aimed at nurturing and supporting up-and-coming entrepreneurs from across the country.
The meeting, which begins today, is expected to draw participants from all provinces and will culminate in the formulation of the group's 2025 action plan, according to the organisation's national secretary-general Edd Maenda.
"We are young entrepreneurs who are doing well in various businesses, but we also have aspiring young entrepreneurs looking forward to growing in various ways," said Maenda. "This is the time to share ideas and chart the way forward."
Zanu-PF national political commissar Munyaradzi Machacha is the guest of honour at the event, which is being billed as a platform to encourage innovation, networking, and collaboration among young businesspeople aligned with the ruling party's economic vision.
The group recently secured a gold mining concession in Manicaland province, in partnership with Pan-African mining and trading company Better Brands, a move it says supports President Emmerson Mnangagwa's vision for resource-driven economic development. The mine, located in Penhalonga, is now widely referred to as the Rezende Mine Shaft.
To enhance accountability and ensure formal trading, Boys DzaMdara has also teamed up with Better Brands Security to facilitate the safe delivery of gold to Fidelity Printers, the government's sole gold buyer.
Aside from business ventures, the group has been active in community outreach, recently holding free medical programmes across various districts as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The Nyanga indaba is expected to run over the weekend, featuring workshops, business clinics, and mentorship sessions tailored for young Zimbabwean entrepreneurs looking to scale up their operations in sectors such as mining, agriculture, and services.
Organisers say the event is part of a broader effort to align youth development with national economic goals.
