ZANU-PF Nyanga South Member of Parliament, Supa Mandiwanzira, has called on Zimbabwean youths to enroll in the National Youth Service (NYS), highlighting the programme's role in equipping young people with vital skills for future employment.

Mandiwanzira made the remarks on Saturday during a visit to Kubudazuva Primary School in his constituency, where Boys dzaMdara, a ZANU-PF-affiliated youth organisation, was making a significant donation to support the school.

The organisation hosted its annual two-day conference in the nearby resort town and used the occasion to donate 100 pairs of shoes, computers, and install Starlink internet connectivity at Kubudazuva Primary School.

Mandiwanzira, who is also a member of the ZANU-PF politburo, praised the donations and emphasised the importance of the National Youth Service in shaping young leaders.

"If you see Boys dzaMdara, they are not ordinary people. They are different because they went through National Youth Service training," said Mandiwanzira.

"Its leadership underwent rigorous training at the NYS. We are urging all youths to join the NYS because they gain lifelong skills that can open doors to employment."

He added: "At the NYS, youths learn skills that are not taught in schools, colleges, or even universities."

Hopewell Chako, chairperson of Boys dzaMdara, said the group was committed to giving back to their communities.

"As Boys dzaMdara, we are young entrepreneurs aiming to inspire other youths to establish their own businesses and contribute to the country's economic growth," Chako stated.

Supporting this message, the organisation's National Secretary-General, Edd Maenda, highlighted their backing of President Emmerson Mnangagwa's initiatives and the government's Vision 2030 development plan.

Manicaland chapter treasurer, Liberty Gumende, encouraged youths to take entrepreneurship seriously.

"We have already started our businesses, but we have also created platforms where young people can network and launch their ventures. We need to motivate each other as youths," Gumende said.

The event underscored the growing emphasis on youth empowerment through skills development and entrepreneurship as Zimbabwe pursues broader economic goals.
