3 dead, 6 injured in head-on collision

Tragedy struck on Saturday night when a head-on collision along the Mvurwi-Centenary Road claimed three lives and left six others injured.
According to police, the accident occurred at around 8:15 PM near Maori Turn Off, approximately 38 kilometres from Mvurwi, involving a Toyota Dyna truck carrying seven passengers and a Mazda Demio with six occupants.
"The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on 20 September 2025 at around 2015 hours at the 38-kilometre peg along Mvurwi-Centenary Road near Maori Turn Off, Mvurwi," police stated.
Three victims died on the spot, while the injured were rushed to Concession Hospital for treatment. The deceased were taken to Mvurwi Hospital mortuary for postmortem examinations.
Police have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution, particularly at night, emphasizing adherence to road rules to prevent further tragedies. Names of the deceased will be released once families are notified.
