Phillip Munetsi Chiyangwa, the 26-year-old son of businessman Phillip Chiyangwa, appeared in court today facing charges of possessing dangerous drugs.

Chiyangwa was arrested on Wednesday in Highlands alongside 25-year-old Tanaka Phil Kashambe after police allegedly found one gram of cannabis in their possession.

During his court appearance, Chiyangwa denied the charges, claiming that detectives had planted the drugs in his car. He applied for bail, with the magistrate set to deliver a ruling on his application on Friday.

The case has drawn attention due to Chiyangwa’s family ties, with his father being a prominent businessman and political figure. Proceedings continue as the court weighs the evidence and considers the bail request.
