Amid growing silence from Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, reports have emerged alleging that his wife, Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi Chiwenga, is actively mobilising former G40 members and military insiders in a covert campaign to position the General for a potential leadership takeover.

Sources claim that Baloyi has regrouped key G40 figures - excluding Jonathan Moyo, who reportedly declined involvement - under various banners including "Team General," "Gudo Guru," and "Team 2." Among those allegedly recruited are Saviour Kasukuwere, Walter Mzembi, Aggripa Masiyakurima (Bopela), Kerina Mujati, and Munyaradzi Shoko. These individuals are said to be receiving regular allowances for data, living expenses, and operational support.

The mobilisation reportedly used public distractions such as the Geza campaign to mask deeper strategic efforts. Baloyi is said to have leveraged her military and security networks to enlist at least 10 serving officers, including members of military intelligence. Meetings are allegedly held at private farms, 3 Brigade, and Dzivarasekwa Presidential Guard facilities, with DMI Colonel Mandaza named as her chief of staff in coordinating operations.

Unverified reports suggest that elements of the Special Air Services (SAS) have been used to breach high-level offices, including those of Minister Kazembe Kazembe and the Grain Marketing Board, in efforts to gather sensitive documents and instill fear.

The alleged strategy includes using social media to portray Chiwenga as a principled, anti-corruption figure aligned with war veterans, civil servants, and the disabled - while painting President Mnangagwa as compromised by Zvigananda-linked interests.

Sources further claim that Baloyi has held meetings with corporate leaders, facilitated by Five Star Car Rental's Tawanda Marwizi, and is backing Matrix Security to train operatives for potential street-level resistance should demonstrations be triggered.

A key meeting reportedly took place on September 30 along Old Mazowe Road, attended by 21 individuals including ZACC officials, military intelligence officers, and both serving and retired generals. USD130,000 was allegedly released for mobilisation, with debate over whether to strike during or after the upcoming ZANU PF Conference.

Disturbingly, some sources allege that plans were discussed to eliminate or politically neutralise the Police Commissioner General and the CIO Director General - either through staged accidents or engineered internal rifts.

Two CIO officials from Branch 5 are reportedly monitoring movements of high-profile figures including Wicknell Chivhayo and Kuda Tagwirei, who have been flagged for arrest, humiliation, or worse. Retired soldiers - said to number 37 - are allegedly on payroll and gathering explosives under the guise of illegal mining.

Even foreign actors have been mentioned, with Ambassador Pamela Tremont's name reportedly dragged into the plot due to her past experience in conflict zones.

Social media strategist George Charamba and influencer LynneStactia (aka LynneM) are said to be feeding and amplifying the narrative online, helping Baloyi consolidate support and sow division within Mnangagwa's camp.

Observers say the President's inner circle is increasingly distracted by internal feuds and misinformation - allegedly engineered by Baloyi's team to weaken cohesion and pave the way for Chiwenga's ascendancy.

Baloyi reportedly learned the power of divide-and-rule tactics during past military infighting between Generals Rugeje and Sanyatwe, and is now applying similar strategies to destabilise Mnangagwa's support base, targeting figures such as Mudha, Matuke, Shava, and July Moyo.

As tensions rise, questions mount over the credibility, legality, and implications of these claims. Bulawayo24 will continue to monitor developments.
