Dynamos escape relegation Zone in controversial fashion

Dynamos climbed out of the relegation zone on Saturday after a dramatic 1-1 draw against Ngezi Platinum Stars at Rufaro Stadium in a Premier Soccer League clash overshadowed by on-field chaos.

The match saw Ngezi Platinum reduced to eight players, with two red cards shown to players and one to head coach Takesure Chiragwi. Tensions boiled over when Chiragwi, after being sent off, slapped one of his own players who had tried to calm him down.

Despite the turmoil, Ngezi managed to hold Dynamos to a draw. The point lifted Dynamos to 14th place on the log with 33 points, just above the relegation cut-off, extending their unbeaten run under coach Kelvin Kaindu, who took charge at the end of July.

Elsewhere, Simba Bhora's title ambitions suffered a blow following a 1-0 defeat to CAPS United at Wadzanayi Stadium. The Shamva-based side now trails log leaders Scottland FC by four points. Scottland maintained their lead with a 1-0 win over Chicken Inn on Friday, moving to 59 points, while Simba Bhora sits on 55 points with a game in hand, keeping the title race competitive but increasingly pressured.
