Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has been hailed by some political commentators as the only figure capable of rescuing Zimbabwe from what they describe as the destructive governance of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his allies.

Commenting on the country's political climate, social media user Lynne Stactia posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Zimbabweans will one day thank themselves for believing in Chiwenga, whom she described as a man destined to restore national stability.

"I didn't believe in ED from day one, I never gave him a chance. My spirit told me he was a disaster for the country. I even preferred RGM to remain president and refuse to resign. When people were celebrating his resignation, I was broken, lying down on my stomach praying for Zimbabwe's dark days that were to follow - it turned out I was right. But I put my life on the line for Genroll. My spirit tells me he will return the country to normalcy and usher in a transitional administration that will give birth to democracy - he survived for such a time like this," she posted.

Stactia added that she prefers Chiwenga because "he's not selfish or greedy, which is exactly what our country needs right now."

Another user, Democrat-X-Street, echoed similar sentiments:
"Regai timboone, but looking closely at these two guys I think General is a better person! Only time will tell, since history has taught us that when they are not yet in power they come with sweet promises — and a few minutes after inauguration, chinobva chaita chinhu chavo votonga evil."

The remarks come amid reports of rising political tension within ZANU PF, with President Mnangagwa allegedly seeking to maintain his grip on power while Chiwenga's allies push for a leadership change.
