The City of Bulawayo on Thursday received a donation of a vehicle and medical equipment valued at US$110,000 from the Republic of South Korea, originally pledged in September 2025.

The handover was attended by Deputy Mayor Councillor Edwin Ndlovu, representing Mayor Senator David Coltart, and Mr Julius Gwatiwa, Deputy Director of Administration, representing the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Judith Ncube.

The donation comprises a Kia Sorento vehicle and a range of medical equipment, including an autoclave, weighing scales, an ultrasound scanner, and an ultrasound machine trolley. The Korea International Cooperation Agency Alumni of Zimbabwe played a key role in facilitating the sourcing and delivery of the equipment.

According to city officials, the medical equipment will be distributed across Bulawayo's 21 clinics and Thorngrove Hospital, while the Kia Sorento will be deployed for community outreach programmes. The donation is expected to enhance healthcare service delivery and strengthen community health initiatives across the city.
