Parirenyatwa barred from marrying a Nguni woman

Late PF Zapu founding vice president Samuel Parirenyatwa was blocked from marrying the mother of his son  (Health and Childcare minister) David, Emily Mkhwananzi.

This was revealed by Themba Dabengwa at Mkhwananzi's burial service in Bulawayo.

Mkhwananzi died on after a long battle with diabetese.

"The late Parirenyatwa met my sister when she was training as a nurse, they fell in love. When she got pregnant, Parirenyatwa approached the family but the elders felt Mashonaland Central was too får," Dabengwa said.

"They never married but later my sister got married to a Khumalo and they had four children."

The late Parirenyatwa, a national hero, was assasinated by Rhodesian intelligence forces in the 1960s.
