Water crisis has reportedly hit the Bloomingdale and Ashdown Park suburbs in Harare which have gone for about three weeks without running taps.
This was revealed by Harare West MP Jessie Majome through her Facebook post. "Bloomingdale and Ashdown Park residents have gone for 3 weeks without running water," she said.
"I have spoken to the District Officer Ms. Mverechena who says council is doing all it can to restore water supply to the above suburbs but could not give a definite day when supply would be restored. The water shortage was caused by a burst pipe at the corner of Rosedene Road. Water supply has been restored to some parts of Ashdown Park."
She said as your MP she was very much interested in what affects the constituency, which is why she voluntarily joined the Parliamentary Committee on Local Government, Rural and Urban Development as local government service delivery is a major issue in Harare West.
"However I urge all Harare Westerners to directly contact the District Office on issues such as water supply, refuse collection, street lighting and maintenance of green ways and get updates from that office. Please contact Mabelreign District Office on 04305238-40 or the Marlborough District Office on 04309080.," she said.
"Let's directly engage Council after all we pay rates."
