Man steals nine goats

A 29‑year‑old Figtree man has appeared in court after he allegedly stole nine goats from a neighbour in his village.
Thumbule Mugande was brought before the Plumtree Magistrates' Court facing a charge of stock theft. He pleaded not guilty before magistrate Joshua Nembaware, who remanded him in custody to 13 February.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi told the court that between April last year and 26 January this year, Mugande allegedly stole nine goats from Ishmael Nkomazana's pen at Bullton Farm in Figtree.
Nkomazana discovered the theft and reported the matter to the police, leading to Mugande's swift arrest.
