MDC-T Binga North House of Assembly representative Dubeko Prince Sibanda, Thursday denied reports linking him to the breakaway renewal faction.

Sibanda was one of the three MDC-T members who were said to have defected to the MDC Renewal following a chaotic Bulawayo provincial congress presided over by party president Morgan Tsvangirai.

A hastily arranged press conference at Samuel Sipepa Nkomo's residence on Monday paraded former MDC-T provincial Organising Secretary and Member of Parliament for Pumula Albert Mhlanga and Gladys Mathe who crossed the floor to join the breakaway party.

Addressing journalists at a press conference, Sibanda laughed off reports that he had joined Biti's camp.

"If the president of the MDC-T says let us join the renewal team because they seem to be doing better than the original MDC-T, I would consider doing joining them although it will be against my volition," Sibanda said.

Sibanda said if his constituency in Binga North persuaded him to join the renewal team, he might consider it, since it would be the wishes of the people.

Sibanda took advantage of the opportunity to swear allegiance to Tsvangirai, adding that every home has its own problems.

"Who says there are angels in the renewal team? What if you find that there are problems there as well, what do you do? What do you become if you quit again?

"I will remain part of MDC-T even if I can see that I am being targeted by certain individuals. I won't mind. Nobody can push me out of MDC-T because nobody pushed me in and I will remain there," said Sibanda.

The MDC Renewal recently launched their party in Bulawayo and unveiled its provincial structure which is led by prominent city lawyer, Kucaca Phulu.
