Controversial Malawian prophet Shepherd Bushiri reportedly attended the inauguration of Malawi President Arthur Peter Mutharika, where he offered prayers for the leader's wisdom and guidance.

This was revealed by Bushiri's Communications Director, Aubrey Kusakala, in an X (formerly Twitter) post dated October 4.

"Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, founder of ECG - The Jesus Nation Church, and Prophetess Mary Bushiri today attended the inauguration of His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika as President of the Republic of Malawi at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre," Kusakala posted.

"The ceremony drew thousands of Malawians and international dignitaries in a powerful display of unity and national pride."

Speaking after the event, Prophet Bushiri described the day as "highly important for Malawi," urging citizens to embrace unity, prayer, and love as the nation enters a new chapter under President Mutharika's leadership.

Bushiri reportedly praised the President's inaugural message of hope and renewal, calling his vision for unity, economic growth, and inclusive governance "inspiring and prophetic."

Pronouncing a blessing, Prophet Bushiri declared: "May the hand of Almighty God guide President Mutharika with wisdom and strength. May his leadership be marked by peace, divine protection, and national progress," Kusakala posted.

He added that Bushiri's presence at the event was warmly received as a symbol of faith, hope, and partnership in nation-building.
