We say no to proof of residence-a bad decision made by MDC -T

Marching to force ZEC implement electoral reforms before elections is a good idea which all the parties need to do so as to pile pressure on ZANU regime
What raises eyebrows is an MDC-T invitation poster dated 18-08-17 which invites the youths to march against the rule which says people must produce their proof's of residence when registering to vote in next year's harmonized elections.
This is not a noble idea for a party like MDC t to encourage such a thing.
Providing proof of residence will make sure that people register to vote in correct provinces, it will also eradicate the system whereby people deliberately register to vote in the provinces they don't belong to.
Also the other suggestion is that, ZEC must check the identity documents .In Zimbabwe ,the districts have a unique number which appears on every identities for example- Bulilimamangwe- 56, Gwanda-28.That number will help determine whether a person is from the same area or not.
If the number doesn't match ,then the ZEC must seek valid reasons why a person is registering to vote.
In rural areas whereby it is difficult to get proof of residence, councillors and sobhukus need to play a pivotal role by issueing letters which prove that they know the people who are registering to vote
