Zimbabwe international midfielder Jonah Fabisch has completed his move to Golden Arrows, bringing an end to weeks of speculation over the 24-year-old’s future.
The Betway Premiership club confirmed the signing on Saturday, announcing that the former Germany-based midfielder will join the Durban side ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Fabisch arrives as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with German third-tier club Erzgebirge Aue, where he spent the previous phase of his professional career.
The move will see Fabisch play in the South African top flight for the first time after spending his entire professional career in Germany.
Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Fabisch developed through the Hamburger SV youth system before featuring for Hamburger SV II, 1. FC Magdeburg II and Erzgebirge Aue.
Although eligible to represent Germany, Fabisch chose Zimbabwe at international level through his mother's heritage.
He gained significant attention during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he started all three of Zimbabwe's group-stage matches against Egypt, Angola and South Africa.
Fabisch also provided an assist during Zimbabwe's narrow defeat to South Africa, further raising his profile on the international stage.
His performances at the tournament reportedly attracted interest from several clubs, including Kaizer Chiefs, although Amakhosi were not understood to have actively pursued a deal.
