Change is good, only if its real

09 Mar 2018 at 07:28hrs | Views
Change is always good in any environment, but then only if it is real. The army which from 1980 has been in charge of Zimbabwe hiding behind civilian authority came out in the open and sold people a dummy.lt was not about restoring anything but the Junta just got fed up of squabbles on its front ...Zanu pf and decided to show who is in charge.

Change was promised to the gullible Zimbabwean people who thought a shift from one of Africa ,s long serving dictators  to a new leader was right for them. This party destroyed everything that was there for many years and they had the temerity to say 100 days would show a change.Change in what as what was wrecking the economy is still there if not worse?Like the administration previously in power mega deals were mentioned, the Junta leader moving around with people we were told were interested in investing in Zimbabwe.

No change is on site apart from having military men now on the driving seats of ministries ,Zanu pf structures and so on. Militarization of state institutions can hardly be called the change people were anticipating.

If the new President was sincere he would have brought sanity to our justice delivery system were courts do not represent anyone but the ruling party.Corruption cases that make news hardly make it to the courts because the people running them owe allegiance to Zanu pf.Notable convictions are maybe of a traffic officer who received a five dollar bribe while serious cases are swept under the carpet.

100 days gone by with nothing to show except populist policies.Zanu pf is shameless that they want to keep ruling the country.Honestly who is in his right mind would want this party or junta to have a day longer in office?Yes,if you are a beneficiary you can shout at the top of the mountain and tell people Zanu pf is good like that fat hippo Wicknell Chivayo .lmagine he got millions and erected a cabin structure as if he was doing a road runner project yet the project was taunted as a major thing by the Zanu pf mouthpiece, The Herald. The people that gave him the tender are still there ,probably laughing at us for thinking the law would get them.

Change will come if people realize that these people who tell us that they are restoring legacy are nothing but hypocrites. For 37 years they celebrated Mugabe leadership and now they claim they are different. What really separates Munangagwa, Chiwenga ,Chinamasa ,Hungwe and many more from Mugabe?

When time is up the most sensible thing one can do is pass over the baton. Most people will remember the Cameroonian legend ,Roger Milla, featuring for his national team at the World cup at 50!This is Africa for you,  instead of nurturing young talent they want to hang on.lt is the same with some African leaders ,they think they are the chosen ones  and cling on to power forming their tiny fiefdoms.

While l am not for any particular individual Zimbabwe needs young leaders in touch with new global trends.Zimbabwe is where it is because of an old fashioned leader who was obsessed with shadows of the colonial past .

Change was touted as reason for operation restore legacy.People are still waiting for the change Mr President if any is coming which l doubt as long as the Junta is in power.
