Does Chamisa think he is auditioning for Mr Universe or running for president?

One sometimes has to wonder if Nelson Chamisa understands what he is running as a candidate for.
Almost no event or rally passes with the MDC leader without a reference to either his age or how sexually virile he thinks he is. However, yesterday, he surpassed even these testosterone-filled rants with an extremely bizarre moment.
During the MDC rally in Harare, ostensibly to call for electoral reform, Chamisa suddenly and without warning, dropped to the floor to do three press-ups. It is not clear what made him do this show of moderate physical ability, but the yelps and cheers from the almost purely male crowd around him probably played a major role.
Possibly Chamisa is confused and thinks he is auditioning for the Mr. Universe competition, where age, fitness and physical attributes are important.
However, when running for the presidency of Zimbabwe in a democratic election, they are completely irrelevant.
I am not certain how a press-up will fix the economy, or how a pull-up with encourage foreign investment. Perhaps he thinks a leisurely jog will improve the transportation system. Chamisa demonstrated yesterday, if there was any doubt, that he has entered the theatre of the absurd.
However, surrounded by his paramilitary Vanguard, and various other thugs and excitable men, this kind of behaviourmakes sense.
According to findings by researchers from the Brunel University in London, people who are always talking about their fitness and youth are narcissists. "Narcissists more frequently updated about their achievements, which was motivated by their need for attention and validation," the study concludes.
The bottom line of the study is that people who brag about their fitness have psychological problems.
Chamisa is always looking for validation from those around him, who are almost always invariably men. Perhaps he has latent tendencies.
When was the last time you saw a crowd around Chamisa with a healthy amount of women?
Women are giving him a wide berth and have been sorely put off by these bouts of narcissism.
Actually, we were put off by his inappropriate and offensive comments about women, including how he thinks he can score with any woman he wants.
This is the type of talk that should remain in the locker room of the gym, if at all. However, to hear it from someone who wishes to be our president is extremely problematic.
Zimbabwe cannot afford another narcissistic chauvinist, we had 37 years under the rule of such a leader. We need a new type of leader for a new Zimbabwe, and Chamisa has shown that regardless of age or physical fitness, he has few of the characteristics necessary to lead a country.
Perhaps in the end, Chamisa will understand that he is more suited to competitions like Mr. Universe, though I don't rate his chances with only three push-ups.
Nevertheless, he does have to shape up and start acting like a responsible person who is not prone to bouts of unnecessary testosterone-filled pranks and gaffes like the one yesterday.
He has to demonstrate that there is more to him than his physicality.
Perhaps then we can treat him like a serious person.
However, he has a long way to go to ensure women treat him like a serious candidate for the presidency.
