BULAWAYO businessman and Kingdom Blue Funeral Services founder Dr Brilliant Ncube and his wife, Belinda Magabadela Ncube, appear to have separated, with the breakdown of their relationship now playing out publicly on social media.

The couple shared separate posts on Facebook reflecting on their relationship, with Dr Ncube appearing to acknowledge the end of their union while expressing gratitude for the years they spent together.

"The good thing is everything is temporary which is a bad thing if you are enjoying because it won't last forever and a good thing when you are sad as it won't be forever," Dr Ncube wrote.

He added that they had shared good times and that he appreciated their years together, before wishing both parties better unions in the future.

His post was accompanied by photographs showing the couple sharing seemingly happy moments at various events and during their travels.

Mrs Magabadela, however, gave a more detailed account of what she said led to the collapse of the marriage, saying she had reached a point where she could no longer continue with the relationship.

She alleged that she had endured emotional distress, physical abuse, disrespect and humiliation during the marriage.

"I could not continue carrying the pain of feeling as though I was sharing my husband with the very children I was raising. It became too much for me emotionally and mentally," she wrote.

Mrs Magabadela said she had hoped the situation would improve but eventually decided to prioritise her own wellbeing.

"Through all of this, I never wanted to change who you are. I kept hoping things would become better, but I have reached a point where I have to stop sacrificing myself just to keep a marriage alive," she said.

She said she had chosen to walk away from the relationship and wished the situation had turned out differently.

"I deserve peace, dignity, and a life where I do not have to lose myself trying to hold everything together," she wrote.

The public fallout comes against the backdrop of Ncube's highly publicised business and family life. He built Kingdom Blue Funeral Services from his beginnings as a hairdresser in Mathambo, Lupane, using savings from that business to establish his funeral-services company.

The enterprise has since expanded into Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana, while Ncube has also ventured into manufacturing, livestock and other business projects.

Ncube's family life has previously attracted public attention, particularly because he has openly practised polygamy. In 2024, Chronicle reported on his relationship with his two wives, including Mrs Magabadela, who at the time spoke about family unity and the arrangement within the household.

More recently, reports have documented marital and maintenance disputes involving Ncube and another estranged wife, Sibonguthando Ncube, including proceedings before the Bulawayo courts.

Those proceedings are separate from the allegations contained in Mrs Magabadela's latest social media post.

Mrs Magabadela ended her message on an emotional note, saying she had raised two girls with love and was now saying goodbye.

"We are done and with a heavy heart goodbye," she wrote.

The contrasting posts have since attracted significant attention online, bringing the couple's previously publicised family life into the spotlight as their apparent separation unfolds publicly.
