Tsvangirai is fighting from the wrong corner

MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai's ill-informed decision to boycott the June 10 by-election is haunting him day and night as evidenced by the man's ludicrous calling for the electorates to spoil the entire ballot papers with "no reform no election" slogan on them rending that vote invalid.
Tsvangirai thought that he was mooting a gem of a strategy when he decided to boycott the forthcoming by-elections. Unfortunately, his tactless resolution is now costing him as the man is now restless and running around proffering ridiculous suggestions to the electorate. The embattled leader should now accept that he has failed dismally. Politics should make sense Mr Tsvangirai. Honestly, you cannot hoodwink voters to follow your mangled line of thinking which is a sign of poor leadership. In fact, electorates should resist from being fooled by this man. It is a democratic right for every citizen to cast his/her vote by choosing their preferred candidates.
Mr Morgan has never been a true democrat. The man is irrelevant to the needs of the people of Zimbabwe as he has proved time and again. I think most people will agree with me when I say Tsvangirai is an assassin of democracy. MDC-T party numerous splitting since the party's formation are attributed to Tsvangirai's dictatorship. It is known that in 2005, the then MDC-T national council had resolved to participate in the Senate elections despite Morgan Tsvangirai's persistence to boycott the event. The, then MDC-T secretary general Welshman Ncube decided a split was necessary, a development that was later to characterize the embattled party.
It is heartening to note that people like Dr Alex Magaisa, the former advisor of Tsvangirai, managed to see the light and confessed that the ex-premier lacks strategy to remove the ruling party from power, hence resorting to ill minded decisions of boycotting elections.
MDC-T's deputy leader, Madam Thokhozani Khupe is also at loggerheads with her master, Tsvangirai, who is causing continued disputes and misuse of his position as the party leader. Instead, Mr Tsvangirai should be urged to pass the baton to another competent leader who knows what democracy is.
Tsvangirai should be reminded that spoiling the ballot in protest is meaningless as this does not discredit the democratic process. Protesting through distorting ballot papers will not register with anyone at all. In fact, the election result will not be affected as the spoiled papers will be counted but not recognized. Therefore, electorates must be aware that spoiling ballot papers is an insignificant measure of voter discontent, but only to prejudice them of choosing a candidate who will represent them in parliament.
Just a reminder to Tsvangirai and ZimRights director Okay Machisa, who are crying for electoral reforms that, alignment of Electoral Act, is a continuous thing that is already taking place. As it stands, by-elections in all the 14 constituencies will be held as usual despite Tsvangirai's idea of threatening to stop any election before the electoral reforms. According to Government lawyers, Electoral Act will be amended while credible elections will be held under the prevailing conditions.
I thought Mr Machisa as a director of ZimRights is quite aware of the democratic rights of Zimbabwean citizens. How can you say voting is a waste of time and resources? Whose resources are you talking of?
I really wonder!
Let those who can vote do so.
So, Mr Tsvangirai, is spoiling ballot papers worth it? I guess there isn't any point of doing this.
Nevertheless, it is said that, the President of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU), George Nkiwane differed with Tsvangirai's thought saying that people have a democratic right to vote for a candidate of their choice without being forced.
It is also a fact that Tsvangirai chickened out of by-elections. His election boycott should act as a wake-up call for him that true democrats don't boycott any form of election.
Recently, Tsvangirai addressed a handful of his supporters at a district rally in Jimila area, Tsholotsho North constituency where he told his supporters again to spoil the ballot papers for June 10 by-elections. Morgan should just leave people to practice their rights. I am quite cognizant that this man is ever regretting his decision of boycotting these by-elections.
Also, Tsvangirai's decision of distorting ballot papers proved that the man is politically myopic. How can a political leader who is fighting to become a President of a nation deprive citizens' rights? A good leader should be exemplary. However, this is contrary to Tsvangirai who is actually causing confusion in his own party.
Tsvangirai should be ashamed of his irrational suggestion of spoiling ballot papers. I wonder whether it was the ex-premier idea or he was poorly advised by his friends in Germany that spoiling ballot papers is the best way to go. Truthfully, Tsvangirai you are off-side on this strategy. In short, it is advisable that you stop troubling voters and find other means and ways of fighting and winning your political battle.
