Absolute vanity besets the politics in Zimbabwe

10 Jun 2015 at 07:03hrs | Views
Zimbabwe has become a land of apologists who do not mean what they say except aiming at swindling the masses again through a seemingly change of heart language. Unless Africa is inventing a new term and approach for a failed government , it is not  normal practice in management to apologize for previous mistakes made in managing public affairs while still holding on to power or intending to rerun for elections.

Recently Zimbabwe has witnessed a wave of apologetic language on what Zanu did wrong as well as what MDC did wrong in the past. None of those claiming to be sorry of their mistakes to the public talked of leaving public politics. I hope Zimbabweans, no matter how desperate the political abuse from Mugabe Zanu has produced, will see and understand that much of what goes on is a ‘sheep in wolf clothing attempt to hoodwink voters if an open free and fair election were to take place.

Unfortunately many so called prophets and ‘new' churches are coming in the name of God to endorse corruption, collect much money from the public and divert it into running personal businesses using people's funds collected as tithing. So spiritually there is open robbery, while politically too there is rampant robbery from the public by those in alliance with the ruling political party.

It is true that Zimbabweans at home have turned a blind eye to political misfortunes befalling upon them knowing full well that the solution is winding up very narrowly to no choice except abuse from Zanu that uses the military to guard chiefs in the name of body guards.

People understand their limitations in dealing with Zanu when using force and violence instead of reasoning and choice by intelligence through rallies. People also know that unless otherwise, Zanu rigging machinery is getting much smarter as opposition politics has become politics of ingratiation to Zanu than seeking for the change of government through an election.

There is no logical explanation to the cry on Zanu mistakes coming from either former Zanu members (now that they are no longer members) or the MDC of any shape or form now promising significant changes in next elections, except there is shaking and serious ideological differences showing in sacrifices organizations as well as individuals make.  None, so far, of any apologists has confessed to bring back money supposedly made during the claimed wrong doing and poor governance.

Every growing person in Zimbabwe is struggling to survive even if it means working with Zanu specialists in corrupt practices in order for them and their families to make it economically. An unprecedented selfishness has opened in Zimbabwe life rubbing hard on a way of running politics of the country. Instead of fighting to remove Zanu, a feeling of both mass political fatigue and extreme individual need to get rich quick through Zanu ladder, is corroding genuine efforts in any form or way to correct political plain level participation in Zimbabwe.

This works well to Zanu remaining in power through fragmentation of opposition into an ineffective system that cannot change the government of the day in Zimbabwe. Vanity has gripped the country and each middle class person thinks and sees politics as the route for making both political and economic gains as long as Zanu regime's past is receiving endorsement by condoning Zanu pilferage taking place in the country.

No one has wishes of making changes in Zimbabwe through creation of economic empowering through opening new companies that will trigger unsettlement in the country, not even the West. The petite bourgeoisie meddle into politics indicating too that their wealth is tied to Zanu allegiance than business competence. We have a few such in all sides of the political spectrum.

There is such haste given 2018 upcoming elections that the situation will revert to 2008 elections climate where Zanu will walk away with another false political victory.

The answer lies with Zimbabweans to seriously consider the past in the context of world politics. Those Nigerian young journalists that have made fun of President Robert Mugabe as a dictator, during his acclaimed visit to Nigerian celebration of democracy, can only be counted as a reawakening call on African dictators that African young people are flexing their muscles on Africa its politics and responsibilities for democracy.

The presence of China on the continent does not make the disengagement from dictatorship any easier. China is getting an upper hand on investment with huge retains to China than Africa. Given Chinas' un denied human rights abuse Africa and in particular Zimbabwe will degenerate worse in handling fair governance and rights of freedom and association.

Coalition of political organizations in Zimbabwe will not work to attain a united front except the spirit of selfishness to lead is exorcised from among those stuck to the need to lead to get rich fast than to change life for the better in the country. Lack of political education exists today both from strict government legislation that make it difficult for opposition to publish their program of action and the pressing economic realities that force people to just desert politics and concern themselves with bread and butter issues

Hope is not lost. The solution is in correct selfless thinking based on desire to see the country prosper and not on I must be the next president syndrome gripping the country currently. Decent churches need pray for God guided leadership which we have in plenty in the country. Leadership who have already shown consistent advocacy for what is good and established a credible pattern of behaviour as people of good report.
