(Warning: The Following Message May Change Your Life)
Number 1: Have Soweto Stand Supporters
The Highlanders supporters and who occupy the Soweto Stand support their team fiercely as if their lives depend on it. Most of them have got 'their own seats in the stadium', you are likely to be removed from your seat if they find you occupying a place they claim to be theirs. How can someone claim to have his seat or space in a stadium? You can't dare ask these supporters to clarify this nonsense of claiming the seats are theirs, lest you end up finding yourself running faster than Asian Bolt leaving your wife and kids in the stadium.
The truth of the matter is that we all need the Soweto Stand Supporters. These are die hard supporters who are always there for the team through thick and thin. Do you have your own Soweto Stand Supporters in your life? You need to find a way of getting your family to be your biggest fans. Your family should be your greatest support base, your Soweto Stand Supporters.
Life can be very rough at times, the going may get tough. We all get tired and feel so weary at times; and we all need those who can have our backs and stand with us through thick and thin like the fierce Soweto Stand Supporters. Without a fierce support base from your spouse and family, you won't have a shoulder to lean on when things start going the opposite direction. Have your own Soweto Stand Supporters at home, without your partner or family by your side, the journey will get really tough and rough.
Number 2: The 'Bosso Ngenkani' mentality
Highlanders (Bosso) have a slogan which says, 'iBosso yiBosso Ngenkani'. Ngenkani means 'by force' or 'come what may come' or 'no matter what'. There was a time when I was very skeptical about this 'ngenkani' mindset, wanting and expecting favorable results 'ngenkani' (by force). But 'the ngenkani mentality' is vital if you are to achieve your goals. Ngenkani is a very stubborn-kind of faith and belief system which wants positive outcome no matter what has happened or against all odds.
Thomas Edison after failing to a make the light bulb work maintained a 'ngenkani' kind-of attitude; an attitude which said that he would end-up getting it right no matter how long it took. He said to the critics, "I have not failed, I have succeeded in finding 10000 ways which don't work' Wow! We wouldn't be having light bulbs today if it was not for 'ngenkani' mentality from Thomas Edison. A mindset which says, 'Against All Odds: It Can Still Be Done'. A 'ngenkani' mentality which says even after 10 years of failing to beat Dynamos, it can still be done. A 'ngenkani' mentality which says despite all my previous failures and betrayals, I will still get married. Wow! A ngenkani mentality which the great Michael Jordan possessed. Jordan, the greatest basketball player of all time said, "I have lost 300 games in my career. I have missed 9000 shots, 26 times I have been trusted to make the game winning shot and missed. I have failed over and over again, that is why I have succeeded." You will make it, ngenkani!
Number 3: Win Away Games!
Bosso is currently leading the pack. It's not inside, it's on top! However, very few people perceive some of the reasons why it has been successful of late. The ability to win its away games it's a major factor. The team has an impressive away record. How many of us play well away from home? Most of us only excel at Barbourfields Stadium and falter away from home. We do well where we receive our most cheers and flatter where we are jeered. Win home and away, don't wait to receive a lot of praise (at BF) to do well; do well away from home where there is lesser support. Win where you are cheered, and win where you are jeered.
Number 4: Smash and Grab
The truth is that some wins by the Bosso team have been some kind of smash and grab affair. Even in game where the team did not play spectacular football, they have recorded victories by utilizing their opportunities. Those who maximize on their opportunities in life, will get ahead of the pack. When David came closer to the battlefield, Goliath had been making noise for 40 days, threatening to deal with anyone who dared step forward from the camp of the Israelites. That very day, avid seized the opportunity, knocked down the giant and recorded one of the greatest victories in history. His brothers had seen the giant making noise and threats for 40 days and had done absolutely nothing, that was 40 missed opportunities; yet the young David stepped forward and took the first opportunity and made history. Don't waste chances, harass every good opportunity, grab those half-chances.
