Tsvangirai goes biblical

I trust that many of you took time today - as you should every day - to thank the Lord for the blessings that continue to come your way. I also know that many of you have turned into prayer warriors in the past few months to ask for the country's deliverance as we go through political and economic crises which threaten to take us back to the gloomy days prior to 2009.
After the July 31 electoral theft and the hardships that have befallen the country since then, those of little faith are beginning to doubt and are asking: Is there any chance for democratic change and economic prosperity in our life time? Let me assure you that of course, there is going to be democratic change and economic prosperity in our lifetime.
As I have said before, this is not just a political transition; this is also a generational transition and for the sake of our country, for the sake of prosperity and dignity of Zimbabweans, democracy is unavoidable. We will emerge stronger from these temporary setbacks.
The Scriptures say in Romans 5:3-5: "We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame..."
