ZIMBABWE international, Vusa Nyoni, was on target at the weekend as his side Beerschot thumped his former team Cercle Brugge in a Jupiler Pro League match. Beerschot won 4-0 on Saturday at their home ground with Nyoni scoring his side's second goal.
Nyoni got to the end of a back heel from Sherjill McDonald in the 39th minute as he increased the lead.
McDonald had given Beerschot the advantage in the sixth minute when he headed from the right side.
Beerschot went further ahead in the second half with Losal Herman contributing a brace.
Herman's first goal came from a penalty which he delicately chipped in the 63rd minute before he completed the rout with a simple tap in the 81st minute. Brugge are home to Honour Gombami who recommended Nyoni to the club in 2005 after both players had starred for Highlanders in the local Premiership.
Beerschot, who are in eighth place on the 16-team table, will play away to Zulte Waregem in their next league tie tomorrow evening.
Cephas Chimedza's former side Sint Truiden currently anchor the table with 13. The former CAPS United midfielder is now playing for a Third Division side Cappellen whom he joined as a free agent.
