SUNDAY Chidzambwa has dropped the Premiership's top scorer Bukhosi Sibanda from the Warriors squad that will leave for the Cosafa Castle Cup finals in South Africa tomorrow.

Sibanda has banged 10 goals for bottom side Bantu Rovers and was tipped to make it into the 20-man final squad.

Chidzambwa also excluded the Shabanie Mine duo of Collins Dhuwa and Nyasha Mpofu from the final 20 to duty at the regional tourney which kicks off this Sunday.

There is a place for Northern Region Division One top scorer Blessing Majarira in the squad that will be captained by Dynamos skipper Ocean Mushure with Ovidy Karuru the deputy.

Chidzambwa sounded confident of his squad after a training session at the National Sports on Thursday morning.

"Every tournament is important and as Zimbabwe, a team that has been to the final on four occasions, we should get to the final of this year's competition and win the cup.

"Any coach would love to win any competition and I believe in the squad that we have chosen. It's a balanced team with a nice blend of experience and youths," said Chidzambwa.

The Warriors will leave for South Africa at 7AM on Friday and begin their campaign with a potential thriller against Mozambique on Monday.

The 2017 Cosafa Cup will be hosted in the North West Province of South Africa between June 25 and July 9.
