Warriors' striker and former Aces Youth Academy talisman, Knowledge Musona, has been linked with a move to Absa Premier Soccer League Champions Mamelodi Sundowns when his loan deal with Kaizer Chiefs expires at the end of June.
His current club Kaizer Chiefs have dismissed the reports. In an interview with Sport24, Kaizer Chiefs media and corporate communications manager, Vina Maphosa, said the club was yet to sit down and discuss player movement at the end of June, explaining that technically the league season ends after the Nedbank Cup final.
"At the moment we cannot talk about any player movements because the season is still on," he said.
Maphosa further added that they were yet to sit down and consult as a board the destiny of their current crop of players.
"We can only talk about that (player movement) next week but I will have to first talk to the football manager of the team Bobby Motaung and hear what he has to say regarding this," he added.
The 23-year-old skilful forward managed to find the back of the net eight times in the 2013/14 season of South African top-flight league despite missing out in the closing stages of the season due to injuries. The injuries have dragged him out of the Warriors squad that will be playing against Tanzania in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match in Tanzania, this week.
If indeed Musona moves to Sundowns next season, he will probably be with his younger brother, Walter, who has had a trial stint with the team in Zambia where the South African side competed in a tournament organized by Power Dynamos and Zesco United.
The smiling assassin, as Knowledge Musona is known to his multitude of fans, is currently on loan at Amakhosi from the German Bundesliga side 1899 Hoffeinheim. The loan deal with Chiefs expires at the end of the season.
