Nkolomi sells Gwanda Spar, Choppies to take over

Prominent Gwanda business man Mgcini Nkolomi is reported to have sold his Spar premises to yet to be known company which has offered the Botswana owned Choppies stores the same premises to rent with effect from this Friday.

According to sources from the Nkolomi franchise, a company bought the premises which used to accommodate supermarket, Butchery and bottle store and the company has offered the premises for rent to Choppies.

"We are told that Choppies will be taking over the premises and all the goods and assets inside and by Friday this week stock taking will be conducted before Choppies could pay the former owner Nkolomi after the quantification of all the goods and assets inside," said the source.

"We are also told that Choppies will also adopt all the workers who were employed by Nkolomi."

The sources said Nkolomi's business faced financial problems  and he opted to sell the premises amid he will continue to operate his business most of them based in Bulawayo.His workers in the empire are reportedly owed salaries for some months.

Choppies is expected to start operate this months after conducting some repairs at the premises and paying the former owner.
