BULAWAYO party lovers will crossover into the New Year in style with South Africa's man of the moment DJ Ganyani on the turntables at the Woza 2014 gig later this month.

Ganyani, famed for the hit track Xigubhu which topped the charts for the better part of the year, will headline this year's Bohlingers shutdown party organised by Delta Beverages.

Ganyani, real name Ganyani Tshabalala, would be making a debut performance in the country. The gig, aptly titled Bohlingers Woza 2014 gig, will see the fiery turntable master sharing the stage with a number of local disc jockeys.

Delta Beverages brands manager, Sandra Madovi said preparations for the party were at an advanced stage with Ganyani expected in the country on 29 December.

"The Bollinger's Woza 2014 event seeks to promote local disc jockeys by letting them share the stage, mingle and rub shoulders with South Africa's top gurus in the industry," she said.

Madovi said the Bohlingers party is held annually as a way of rewarding Bohlingers lager consumers for their support.

"The parties are held for customers to engage with their Bohlingers brand. We will continue spoiling our Bohlingers drinkers into 2014 and we promise them more treats from the brand next year. Local DJs Keith, Sbago and Black Cee are part of the line-up. Besides music, a lot of entertainment activities such as mini soccer, pool and gladiators have been lined up for the day."

The main act, DJ Ganyani, has been in the music industry for over 20 years. With his great passion for music, at the age of 15 he started teaching himself several DJ techniques to manipulate or mix pre-recorded music.

Today, he is a professional DJ who has mastered the technique of using harmonic mixing for choosing compatible songs. This has made him the pioneer or the grandmaster of this entertainment technique in neighbouring South Africa.

The Bohlingers annual party was first held at Queens Sports grounds in December 2011 with Oscar "Oskido" Mdlongwa, Jah Seed, Madluphuthu, Winnie Khumalo, Brickz, the late Brown Dash and Alaska putting the lid on a year of memorable music. Last year, South Africa's DJ Bee, Channel O Video Jockey Eltonik, Soul Candi's first lady Lolo (vocalist and DJ) and Durban's Afrotainment star DJ Gukwa were the main acts of the night.

They were backed by local DJs Pasee, Joe the OG, Sunshine, Mzoe, Djembe Monks, Otis the Flow, Sbago, Kimble Rogers and Mphoe.
