OLIVER "Tuku" Mtukudzi's fans who will throng the Large City Hall in Bulawayo tomorrow will be able to sample some of his songs from his forthcoming album.
In an interview, Tuku Music manager Sam Mataure confirmed that Tuku was in the rehearsal room working on his latest album.
"Bulawayo fans will be able to hear some of the songs that Mudhara is working on. The album will be released sometime this year," he said.
He was, however, not forthcoming with the title of the project.
If released, the album will be his 60th and it will add up to his wide collection which spans over 20 years.
This repertoire with his trademark husky voice has made him one of the most recognisable voices from Zimbabwe. His ingenuity has seen him break on the international scene, where he has earned a loyal following.
This show will be Tuku's first this year in the city. He last staged a similar show at the same venue last year in September.
This time he is going to be sharing the stage with one of the popular bands in the region, Ndolwane Super Sounds, Electric Vibes, a group that hails from Makokoba, and Tee Pie.
He would also be coming with one of the country's top urban groovers, Stunner, who is riding high with the song Godo. Last time he performed with Winky Dee, Jeys Marabini and his band Kozekulunge.
Fans should expect other songs from Tuku's albums such as Vhunze Moto, Shanda, Nhava, Wonai, Tsimba Itsoka, Tsivo, Paivepo and last year's release, Rudaviro.
