Zimbabwean woman's throat slit open at a SA restaurant

JOHANNESBURG - A 25 year old Zimbabwean woman has been murdered, with her throat slit open at at South African restaurant.

Gauteng police have arrested the manager of a Kensington restaurant after an employee's body was found hidden in a storage facility.

The victim was a waiter at the restaurant.

Her body was discovered by colleagues on Tuesday at the Rusty Lady Deli Bistro.

Police spokesman Richard Munyai said the woman was reported missing at the Cleveland police station on Monday.

It is understood the woman was last seen with the restaurant manager on Monday night after he'd instructed her not to go home early.

"Her hands and legs were tied with an electrical cord and her throat was slit open," Munyai said.

The 36-year-old manager was arrested in Edenvale on Tuesday night.
