Zimbabweans blamed for crime increase in Hillbrow SA

Zimbabweans living in South Africa have been blamed for the increase in crime at Hillbrow where reports say people are being mugged and robbed by them on daily bases.

Ngqabutho Mabhena an official representing immigrants in SA said Zimbabweans were responsible for most of the crimes committed at Hillbrow.

"Operation Fiela! Crime is on the rise in Hillbrow and we should not protect criminals who rob us of our cell phones simple because they are from Zimbabwe," he said.

"Last Saturday at the awards ceremony, one Zimbabwean was stabbed by those who drink as if they are the ones who discovered alcohol."
