A woman got angry when she got home only to discovered that her husband and his girl friend had eaten the chicken she had prepared for their meal before stabbing him.
Daily Sun reported that the wife had prepared some delicious chicken for herself and her husband.
Then left the house for a while to attend a stokvel meeting.
But when she returned after three hours and saw her husband's friend leaving the house, licking her fingers after eating delicious meat, all hell broke loose!
The woman ran into the house and confronted her husband, but the argument soon turned bloody when she stabbed him with a fork!
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon in KwaLanga, Uitenhage.
The husband's sister (41) said "My brother angered his wife by bringing his girl friend home to have dinner with him while she was at a meeting. Apparently she had prepared the chicken for her and her husband. But I don't understand why she wanted to kill him for the meat because she knew about her husband's friend.
"She must rot in jail because she's been abusing my brother. I'm sick and tired of her. Every Friday my brother has no peace at his home because this woman swears at him.
"Two months ago, she kicked him out of the house. Look now, she nearly killed him for a pot of chicken meat!"
Neighbour Alfred Singeni (46) said the married couple fight after every weekend.
"She came to my house crying, saying she had stabbed her husband by mistake," said Alfred.
Police spokeswoman Warrant Officer Gerda Swart said: "A woman (33) was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The woman apparently came home to find an unknown woman walking out of her yard eating some meat.
"She rushed inside and an argument between her and the husband started.
"During the argument the wife allegedly got hold of a fork and stabbed her 36-year-old husband twice in the arm and shoulder.
"After the wife noticed that her husband was bleeding, she alerted her neighbours and cops were called. He was rushed to the Uitenhage Hospital. The husband was discharged soon after being treated.
"The woman will appear in the Uitenhage Magistrates Court for attempted murder," said Swart.
The girl friend managed to escape unharmed.
